So the first thing we have to understand with an addiction or a negative behaviour is there is always a positive intention behind that addiction or behaviour. For example if our values are not being met we often go to something to make us feel better - for example alcohol or comfort eating.
If we want to let go of an addiction or behaviour we have to understand why we do what we do and that is what I mean by the intention behind it.
