This is one of my favourite subjects and that subject is intentions. When we have an issue it is important to realise why we are doing what we do, this will help us to connect with the thing which is running the issue - and this is the unconscious mind. If you could consciously let go of an issue you would just click your fingers and let go of it easily, but if you cannot change it yourself then it must mean the unconscious mind is running the issue.
Sometimes the unconscious mind gets confused. It wants to help us and protect us, but it can also make mistakes. When we have an issue, the unconscious mind is running the behaviour of the issue. Over time this can cause anger and resentment towards yourself.
However the unconscious mind is running the issue for the best of intentions, it wants to look after you and protect you, but it is not doing it in the best way for you, the behaviour does not make us feel good. When your unconscious mind is running a behaviour that you dislike, it is trying to protect you and it thinks it is doing a good job for you.
What we need to do is think about the intention behind the behaviour. Usually it's protection. When we start to understand that then the easier it is to connect with our unconscious mind and the easier it becomes to change the behaviour.
You can then begin to negotiate with your unconscious mind to come up with a new and better way to work for you.
